The new RM 27-02 is a sporty tourbillon watch designed by 〖RICHARD MILLE〗 specifically for tennis player Rafael Nadal. It not only features an ultra-light case but also possesses exceptional stability to withstand the enormous acceleration generated at the moment of hitting a ball. In the men’s 400m sprint final at the Rio Olympics, South African athlete Wayde van Niekerk crossed the finish line wearing this watch and won the gold medal. Drawing inspiration from racing car chassis, RICHARD MILLE adopted an “integrated” design for the skeletonized main plate of the movement and the case, thereby significantly enhancing impact resistance. To make the watch even lighter, Richard Mille collaborated with North Thin Ply Technology to develop an ultra-light, hard, and wear-resistant “quartz fiber” material for the case. The entire watch weighs as little as a sheet of paper and exhibits a rugged texture similar to Damascus steel. Through the watch glass, the entire structure of the movement can be clearly seen. There is a floating tourbillon at the 6 o’clock position and Richard Mille’s unique fast-rotating barrel at the 12 o’clock position, which can provide a power reserve of up to 52 hours and increase kinetic energy efficiency by 20% during the initial winding. The white bezel is fixed to the case with 12 grade 5 titanium screws, paired with an orange strap and a red crown. To improve readability, the ends of the hour and minute hands are emphasized with bright orange-yellow. RICHARD MILLE RM 27-02 watch: full carbon fiber case, sapphire crystal glass front and back, carbon fiber dial, floating tourbillon movement, 19 jewels, power reserve in hours, braided strap, titanium alloy buckle, water-resistant to 50 meters.
